On Wednesday, June 19, Philipse
Manor Hall State Historic Site will hold its first of a series of lunch
lectures called Lunches with History.
The topic of the first Lunches with
History will be Unlocking the Lincoln
Letter. In this hour-long conversation, participants will discover one of
Philipse Manor Hall’s most unique artifacts—- a letter from Abraham Lincoln to
the City of Yonkers. Participants will learn about Lincoln’s involvement and
legacy in Yonkers, as well as the rest of the country during the turbulent
Civil War period. The lecture begins at 12:00 p.m and ends at 1:00 p.m.
Admission for the lecture is free and
participants are encouraged to bring lunch. For information or questions,
please call Philipse Manor Hall's Public Programs Coordinator at (914) 965-4027
x102.
