Saturday Family Movie: Show Dogs

Please join us this Saturday, February 23 at 3:00 pm for a free screening of the movie, "Show Dogs." It's about a Rottweiler police dog and his human partner, who go undercover at a prestigious dog show to stop animal smuggling. Feel free to bring your own popcorn and refreshments.

On Friday, February 15, 2019, the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall will host a reading and book signing to celebrate the launch of Dear George, Dear Mary: A Novel of George Washington's First Love by Mary Calvi.

George Washington met Mary Philipse on Valentine's Day 1756 at a dance at Philipse Manor Hall. They fell in love. The rest, as they say, is history. Their story is intertwined with the birth of the United States of America. And it all started here, in the very heart of Yonkers.

Step back in time and experience an evening very much like the one George Washington and Mary Philipse encountered on Valentine's Day so many years ago. Colonial re-enactors, demonstrations of authentic music and dance and period-inspired refreshments are all part of this enchanted evening. 

Tickets are $35 for members of the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall and $45 for general admission. be a witness to this delightful story. Space is limited. 

Yonkers First Lady Mary Calvi, author, six-time Emmy award winning journalist and CBS 2 News This Morning and News at Noon anchor, will give a talk on the research she conducted for her book, Dear George, Dear Mary: A Novel of George Washington's First Love.

Bilingual Story Hour at Philipse Manor Hall

Philipse Manor Hall, in collaboration with the Yonkers Riverfront Library, is hosting a bilingual story hour to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 11 - 12 pm. It's a great opportunity to encourage the love of reading in our youngsters, while they learn a little history. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Holiday Tours of Philipse Manor Hall

The Santas stood at attention. There was no time for rest. They had no idea when you'd be coming by for your tour. So stand there they did. No looking to the right or left. No bending of legs or turning of heads. No nothing. Until that teeny tiny one in the front starting asking questions.:

"So when are those Holiday Tours again?" 

The Holiday Tours are held at 2:00 pm Tuesdays -Saturdays, December 4-29 (Except December 12, 15 & 25)

"How about the Candlelight Tours, when do people come for those?" 

Those are Tuesdays - Saturdays as well, but they begin at 7:00 pm. I recommend you call and make reservations for those. For more information: (914) 965-4027


"How much does it cost to go on one of the tours and can we sit down once they pass us? 

No, you may not sit until after the Manor closes for the night. Here are the prices:
